Our #CoffeeBean experience at Evia

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Evia Lifestyle Center

I'm a pretty picky customer, a little difficult sometimes but reasonable. You can't just make me try this brand from this, much more make me switch from my brand to another one. I become a promoter of establishments and brands that are consistent and those that always deliver excellent service or superb product quality. I'm just like any other paying customers, I want to get my money's worth. And, if I leave a restaurant or a store happy, trust that I will come back. I will even refer to friends + colleagues + relatives. And again, I will come back.Ü Sometimes there's even a bonus — I write about the experience here in my little space on the Internet.

Last Sunday was all about this: I have been loyal to a lot of brands for as long as I can remember, but every now and then, you take a side trip when you find something new. Sometimes, you'll be surprised that you're even considering changing old habits because of exceptional brand experience.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Evia Lifestyle Center

A Sunday habit is about to change
I have this Sunday morning thing that I do when I'm up unusually up at 7 o' clock in the morning. I just have mornings when I need good, strong coffee but don't really want to dress up because I'm just too sleepy to do so. My Mom and I would drive-thru Starbucks Evia for our Sunday morning caffeine fix. She gets her Americano and I always have my Short, Non-Fat Caramel Machiatto at 120°.

Feeling spontaneous last Sunday, instead of the usual Starbucks drive-thru, we parked the car to check out the stores in Evia. And, that's when I discovered Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf beautifully tucked away in a corner at Evia Lifestyle Center. I love how spacious this CBTL is. It also has these huge glass panels that allowed a lot of natural light to pour in making this store conducive for studying and a pleasant place to do some take-home work. Inside, it's not cramped and it has this right mix of vintage and a chillax-ed ( chill + relax ) South vibe that will make anyone want to go inside and stay for a while.

Egss Ben Strawberry Cheesecake Brek o' Day with Chicken Sausage

Good Coffee. Great Breakfast. Excellent Customer Service.
I love coffee. I like mine milky and bold. That's no secret. However, I sometimes want to have my coffee with food. So, while coffee ( or it may be their sugar — sometimes, it just doesn't click ) isn't one of CBTL's strong points, they do have awesome breakfast meals that other coffee shops don't have. If you have not tried any of these breakfast sets, I suggest you try 'em out soon because you won't get disappointed.Ü I normally get the Brek o' Day but last Sunday, I went for something that I haven't tried. I ordered their Eggs Ben while Mother Duckie had her usual Brek o' Day with Chicken Sausage. And since it was Sunday treat day, we shared a Strawberry Cheesecake to complete our favorite meal of the day.Ü

And finally, delivering a good and memorable CBTL experience was the team on duty last Sunday. I remember that there were a lot of customers that morning, but service didn't falter. Our barista / cashier also showed my Mom, who is a senior citizen, extra TLC. The receipt and the stuff that she needed to sign were brought to our table instead of making Mom wait, which she appreciates and seems to remember. I overheard my Mom talking to one of her friends a while ago and was telling this Tita that they'll have tea or coffee soon at CBLT Evia. Isn't Mom a cutie?

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Evia

How about you? Are you a coffee person like me? Are you loyal to any particular coffee brand or coffee shop?Ü Any coffee thoughts you'd like to share?  ☮..Peace + _Love + Good Vibes. RUSS.

It is admirable that you're principled and not easily swayed by products popping up in the market everyday. great piece.

Seriously, I'd rather go with Coffee Bean because it is more relaxing than starbucks. Also, I really wanted to visit the CBTL in Evia. Thanks for the suggestion, Russ. :)

The food really does look good! My husband is the coffee person in my family. Just give me my Starbucks Decaf Americano and I'm good to go. The hubs is constantly trying new bold flavors.

I don't have much in the way of brand loyalty, except a few random things like body wash and deodorant, but I also have an aversion to big names, so little mom and pop shops like this are what really do it for me.

I love all coffee places. I am a Starbuck's addict but any place will do for me!

I am a Coffee lover :) My day isn't complete without having a cup or two.

I want the cake yum! Now I'm craving ha-ha

I prefer CBTL rn than any other popular Coffee as other shops are already crowded and I feel un relaxed.

We didn't have CBTL here in Pampanga, not that I know of. Instead I always hop in Starbucks and kind of getting bored with their usual stuff. Guess I should check a different location to experience a different vibe.

I love getting out of my comfort zone and trying new restaurants even though some times I am hesitant to do so. Never heard or been to a CBTL but it looks fab!

I like having a meal if I'm having coffee. Coffee alone is way to strong for me. I think I'd enjoy this place.

Ahhhh I'm like the only person in the world that doesn't like coffee so I very rarely go to coffee shops unless I know they have a variety of tea. Loving that this place had yummy looking food! I would totally go to a coffee bean now knowing they have deliciousness there!

I rarely get out and when I do I really don't want to hit up Starbucks. So many people and I find the food/treats hard and just not good always. This looks lovely!

I just love the name - Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Someone should think about opening one in the States because that place looks like heaven to me! As much as I am loyal to certain brands, I also LOVE seeking out new things.

The cheesecake looks delicious. I love it and it is one of our favorite desserts. I have been known to ask for cheesecake for my birthday too.

I'm a coffee addict. I think my caffeine runs on my veins, not blood anymore, lol. I love CBTL branch in EVIA. its at the back and very peaceful to stay and relax and just have a cup of coffee there.

I am a coffee person but refrain to stop drinking it when I discover Milk Tea. It is more healthier than coffee. I have read an article saying, a "Scientists have discovered that tea contains high levels of compounds that help to reduce the amount of fat absorbed by the gut and can cut cholesterol". But sometimes, if I don't have tea in our house..I drink coffee. Hehehehe....

Coffee bean is an international brand but they sell different stuff in different countries. In Singapore, they are more well known for their desserts than drinks. Thanks for sharing your experience.

It makes me sad that I don't go to CBTL enough! Everything looks so crazy good!

Fred Hawson said...

Very beautiful and classy photographs in this post! I do not really drink coffee, but those other items look very good indeed in your photos.

I'm a coffee addict of any brands, most-likely the cheapest one. For espresso, I'd pefer "illy" beans from Italy. Really, I'm experienced in coffee making and art.

Louise Banta said...

I have only tried CBTL once when the usual coffee shop I go to was full. I get what you mean by being loyal to a brand. That loyalty sometimes hinder us from trying new brands in a way that we subconsciously don't give the other brand the chance to share what they've got for us. Example would be me always going to Starbucks. I'm used to their kind of coffee and frapps. When I tried CBTL, I automatically disliked it and in my mind says SB is much better. Now, with this post, it did made me realize that I must have been too quick to judge. I was used to SB's taste and didn't give CBTL a chance. Wait, parang ang gulo ko na? Haha!

I love CBTL. The food is good and it's not as crowded as Starbucks.

I usually go to coffeeshops if I need to work outside. I stopped being a fan of cofee brands. I however patronize 3n1 coffee. Way cheaper and practical. :-) Back in my young days (haha parang matanda lang) I used to visit Starbucks, but that was just out of curiosity and peer pressure. Now, I go to coffee bean still if I have business meetings or I needed to work outside home. I can also now make a good coffee at home, satisfies my taste. Plus, I've just recently become a fan of teas, so coffee might be faced out from my choices soon. haha :-)

My Coffee Bean experience though is also great. Fantastic customer service. Great ambiance. My favorite place if I want to read a book or work on something so urgent and needs completion ASAP. :D

I'm fine with cappuccino or my own version of coffee with sugar and cream when at home. While I am in the office, the coffee vendo machine is my power retriever. When out with my family, we often visit Starbucks, Kopiroti and CBTL

I love Coffee Bean's breakfast set. My family and I like to chill out for sunday brunch at coffee bean near out housing area.

Sumi Go said...

Been a loyal customer of CBTL for so long now. :D Although I don't dig their coffee that much, I really love their teas and tea lattes. And the fact that they serve actual meals, is a big bonus! :) So glad that you got to try it and loved the experience. Most of the time, ambiance and impeccable service can really make or break a dining/lounging experience.
